STEINWAY-SMTA SPONSORSHIP: In an effort to encourage young teachers to realize the benefits of MTNA membership and its role in assisting teachers to become better piano educators, the Steinway Gallery has offered to sponsor a piano teacher for a one year membership in SMTA. Go to the Forms page and click on Steinway-Smta sponsorship for further details and an application form. Deadline:

Member Benefits Include
SMTA provides many benefits for music professionals. Belonging to our chapter also provides additional opportunities in music and related activities for those interested in expanding their interests and supporting the community as a whole. Here is a brief overview of those events, activities and services.
Teacher Referrals – Click on the home page for easy researching of teachers, by name, geographic region and/or instrument.
Performance opportunities for students include WSMTA Adjudications and Musicianship Examinations, and the SMTA Celebrate Music Festival. Student recitals are held several times each year for an extra performance opportunity.
Teacher Training Programs are held monthly. These events provide invaluable learning experiences for all teachers.
"Overtones" is a monthly newsletter that keeps members informed of upcoming events, the latest Association news, and items of interest to all music teachers.
A "Friends" Membership is available for your adult students (fee applies). Interested, sponsored adults may attend all meetings and receive the monthly newsletter.
Members may use the Spokane Chapters' Steinway Piano and Recital Hall at Holy Names Music Center for recitals and other performances (fee applies). A great location for studio recitals along with a wonderful piano for students to enjoy! Music City and Steinway Piano Gallery also have performance facilities (fees apply).
Friends, Fellowship, & Networking — The most important part of local membership! Make lifelong friends! Share the joys and challenges of teaching! Exchange valuable information! Take advantage of many opportunities to enhance and expand a rewarding music teaching career.
Attend the annual WSMTA Conference held at the end of June for more friendship, ideas, and inspiration.
