SMTA provides many benefits for music professionals. Belonging to our chapter also provides additional opportunities in music and related activities for those interested in expanding their interests and supporting the community as a whole. Here is a brief overview of those events, activities and services.

Performance opportunities for students include WSMTA Adjudications and Musicianship Examinations, and the SMTA Celebrate Music Festival. Student recitals are held several times each year for an extra performance opportunity.
Teacher Training Programs are held monthly. These events provide invaluable learning experiences for all teachers.
“Overtones” is a monthly newsletter that keeps members informed of upcoming events, the latest Association news, and items of interest to all music teachers.
A “Friends” Membership is available for your adult students (fee applies). Interested, sponsored adults may attend all meetings and receive the monthly newsletter.
Members may use the Spokane Chapters' Steinway Piano and Recital Hall at Holy Names Music Center for recitals and other performances (fee applies).
